2. Authenticity & Fraud Protection

Authenticity is a core part of my practice. To protect collectors:

Official Samurai Farai artworks and limited-edition items are only considered authentic when purchased through:

In person or through direct communication and invoices issued by me.

3. Officially partnered galleries:

Only galleries, curators, and institutions that I have personally appointed or approved.
These are always publicly communicated or represented by me.

4. Official art fairs, exhibitions, and pop-ups

Any fair or event where I am an exhibiting artist, or where an official gallery represents me.

Works sold through these channels are accompanied by full studio and gallery provenance.

❗Warning About Fraudulent Sellers & Counterfeit Works

If you purchase a Samurai Farai work from:

• An unverified online seller

• A private individual via social media

• Unauthorized marketplaces

• Unapproved galleries or “collectives”

• Any reseller not officially associated with me

❌ I cannot authenticate or support the piece
❌ It may be fraudulent, altered, or misrepresented

If a work does not include these or lacks a verifiable chain of custody, it may not be genuine.

Fraudulent or unauthorized works are not eligible for refunds, authentication services, exchanges, insurance claims, or support.

3.How Official Works Are Authenticated

Every legitimate Samurai Farai artwork or limited-edition item includes:

• A Certificate of Authenticity

• A unique ID, edition number, or engraving (where applicable)

• Artist signature and date (for artworks and prints)

• Studio or gallery provenance records

• Internal studio tracking for verification

All claims must follow the timelines and requirements of the Shipping Policy and Returns Policy.

4. What the Buyer Guarantee Does Not Cover

This guarantee does not apply if:

• You purchased the item outside official channels

• You changed your mind or bought the wrong size (unless eligible per Returns Policy)

• You arranged your own courier or collection

• Damage occurs after delivery

• You cannot provide required evidence for a claim

• The item was final-sale, custom-made, or otherwise non-returnable

• The work is fraudulent, altered, counterfeit, or misattributed

Fraudulent works are strictly excluded from all support.

5. Evidence Requirements

To investigate a claim, you may need to provide:

• Clear photos of the issue

• Photos of internal and external packaging

• Delivery confirmation or courier tracking

• A full unboxing video (strongly recommended for artworks & jewellery)

Insurers and couriers require visual documentation to process claims.

6. Insurance for Artworks & High-Value Items

Some items qualify as high-value and may require additional insurance.

High-Value Threshold (Industry Standard)

Items valued at:

• R10,000+ ZAR, or

• $500+ USD, or

• €450+ EUR,

are considered high-value and may need full-value insurance.

Examples of high-value items:

• Original artworks

• Large or framed works

• Limited-edition jewellery

• High-value fine art prints

• Multi-item orders exceeding the threshold

Types of Insurance

1. Standard Courier Insurance

Automatically included in most shipments; covers major loss or damage.

2. Full-Value Insurance (Recommended)

Covers:

• 100% replacement value

• Handling damage

• Packaging-related damage

• Courier negligence

If required, the cost will be communicated before dispatch.

Insurance does NOT cover:

• Damage after delivery

• Incorrect storage or hanging

• Environmental damage (moisture, heat, sunlight)

• Damage caused by cutting packaging improperly

Declining insurance means accepting standard courier liability only.
